If your Pool Inspector finds any Non-Compliant items, you receive clear, practical guidance on what needs to be fixed, liaising with your licensed builder when needed.
Once the work is completed, Book a Reinspection. When your pool fences and barriers meets the required standard, your Pool Safety Compliance Certificate is issued the Same Day as your Reinspection.

The NCZ Non Climbable Zone
The NCZ Non Climbable Zone around the pool barrier was born in 1992 with the Australian Swimming Pool Act.
The NCZ Non Climbable Zone successfully keeps children from accessing the pool area by forbidding any climbable objects, trees or shrubbery to exist within 900mm of the pool, fences and barriers.
The NCZ Non Climbable Zone looks at
- Design, construction, installation and maintenance of child-resistant barriers
- Restricting access to pools for pool safety, pool inspections and pool safety certificates
- When a bush, shrub or tree has branches 10mm or thicker that could provide a handhold or foothold, those branches could be cut back rather than removing the entire plant
- Foliage can act as a visual deterrent while exposed stumps or thick branches may create a climbing aid
- Where vegetation sits within a NCZ Non Climbable Zone, regular trims and maintenance prevents climbable growth.
If the pool area has climbable objects within the NCZ Non Climbable Zone, there are 3 solutions to correct this.
- Adjust and raise the barriers to 1800mm so it is clear of the object,
- Remove it, or

How do I know if my Pool Fence needs repairs?
Your Pool Safety Inspection will identify any issues by assessing the pool fence and barriers, gates and surrounding areas for hazards or Non Compliance. If your fences or barriers fail, a report with pictures and videos outlines the specific areas needing to meet compliance standards.
Who can perform the repairs?
A detailed report is written up including photos with descriptions and explanations on Rectifications. Often, Rectifications require installing new latches or hinges to your gate, extending the height of your fence or clearing the NCZ Non Climbable Zone. If you know what you’re doing, you can certainly complete Rectifications.
While general handymen can perform repairs, Rectifications often require the skills of a licensed builder familiar with the pool safety regulations so repairs are compliant while avoiding the risk of non-compliance and fines.
Be sure to pick the right builder who gets the job right the first time, saving you from unnecessarily spending money.
